1. What is it SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE and how to imagine it?
Foam concrete is a homogenous mixture of hardened cement and very small air bubles; its structure in a cross section is similar to e.g. a structure of a porous concrete brick.
SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE features with stable quality, an efficient and fast production method and last but not least simple and fast application and processing methods.
 
2. What are main components of Foam concrete?
Simply said, foam concrete is produced by mixing cement, sand - if needed, and water resulting in cement milk/slurry. Then, technical foam is incorporated into this milk.
 
3. What types of cement may be used for foam concrete production?
All commercially available types; CEM II 32,5R is used most often; CEM I 42,5R is used less.
 
4. What is it technical foam and how is it produced?
Technical foam is thick slightly slurry mass of white colour. It is produced in a foam generator by mixing of foam forming concentrate with water and air. Its quality has a decisive impact on final properties of foam concrete.
 
5. What is SIRCONTEC foam concrete used the most often for?
SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE is used first of all for making of floor level courses of residential buildings at present. It replaces panel polystyrene or mineral fibre panels used so far in this course.
 
6. Why is it useful to use SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE for making of a floor level course?
Its use brings a series of advantages. First of all it is simple and fast levelling of roughness of a supporting slab mostly represented by installation tubes led in the supporting slab.
A plane on which other floor courses ? insulation against sound, a distribution course (screed) and a wear layer ? can be applied very easily is created using the SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE. Substantially higher labour productivity than when using panel fillers is the best advantage of use of SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE ? it is processed like a self-levelling screed.
 
7. What about the prices?
From the point of view of a project as a customer, the SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE selling price is fully comparable with panel materials used for making of a floor level course. However, it is laid incomparably faster.
 
8. What is an average daily performance of a working group?
A working group usually consists of 4 members and their daily performance is from 500 to 800 m2 per shift at an average thickness 4 cm of SIRCONTEC foam concrete. Daily performance is affected by partition of the surface.
 
9. Do floors with SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE meet requirements defined by current standards?
Of course they do, otherwise several hundreds of thousands of square meters of them would not be realised in different countries. All floor structures designed by SIRCONTEC have passed professional assessments and tests.
 
10. Can heating pipes of a floor heating system be poured with foam concrete?
No, SIRCONTEC foam concrete has considerable thermal insulating properties and it is not able to conduct heat well. For comparison: About a triple thickness of SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE in a PBG 40 modification is required to achieve the same thermal resistance as for polystyrene.
 
11. Under what conditions can SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE be applied?
Briefly said, under conditions that are usual for application of floor screeds. I.e. at ambient temperature and temperature of a sub base above 8 °C and without a draft and intensive solar radiation.
 
12. When can another course be applied on SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE?
It can usually be applied immediately after achieving ascendable strength which is usually less than 72 hours after pouring on a base slab.
 
13. Can paving be glued directly to foam concrete?
No, a distribution course ? screed is always required under the paving.
 
14. What screeds are recommended for use and what thicknesses?
All commercially available. It is recommended to use prefabricated screeds, i.e. either anhydrite or plaster self-levelling or cement non-self-levelling.
The thickness for anhydrite and plaster ones is usually from 35 mm and that for cement ones is from 40 mm.

15. What is it POLYSTYRENE CONCRETE and what does it consist of?
Polystyrene concrete is a homogenous mixture of a cement binder, water, polystyrene particles and admixtures. Its bulk density is usually within the range 350 - 600 kg/m3 in conditions of a SIRCONTEC technology.
 
16. When and for what is it suitable to use POLYSTYRENE CONCRETE?
Usually to make a roof gravity course and the PsB 50 variant is the most suitable for this purpose.
Polystyrene concrete can also be used to make a floor level course; however it is less economical than to use SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE especially for big projects.
 
17. Why is it convenient to use an MS 1000 machine for production of FOAM CONCRETE?
The MS 1000 machine provides steady quality of produced SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE and it reduces impact of operators on its final quality to minimum.
 
18. To what distance and height can SIRCONTEC FOAM CONCRETE be pumped?
Maximum pumping distance has been 280 m of hoses with the head 15 m and the head 81 m with hoses 130 m long so far.
